Upcycled DIYs
If you haven't heard of the term upcycling before, then consider this your introduction! Upcycling, in laymen's terms, means repurposing old things. You might have seen this term pop up during conversations or shopping for furniture, textiles, hardware materials, clothing, and other trinkets. It's easy to do and encourages you to re-think the value of your unwanted items before kicking them to the curb.
I thought I would try my hand in upcycling after researching and learning more about it. Like with every spring, I faced that dreadful day of going through my closet. Anyone else who is petite knows one closet purge can result in a pant graveyard. Instead of sending my old pants away to sit in a landfill, I wanted to find a more sustainable solution.
I decided to repurpose a pair of white jeans, which I hadn't worn in over a year; partly because of my cookie addiction, and partly because I felt they had become dated and unflattering. That's when I remembered seeing cropped, frayed hem denim on Sincerely Jules, my favorite style blogger—major sidenote: doesn't she look gOOd in everything?!
