How to Update Your Style
Fashion is fast-paced and ever-changing. Sometimes, it can be difficult to stay in the loop or determine your own personal style. It's easy to get stuck in the routine of throwing on a casual tee and your favorite pair of sneakers, but here are a few easy ways to take your wardrobe from drab to fab just in time for the new season!
1. Cover Up
Outerwear is one of fall's biggest attractions. Of course we love our pumpkin lattes, but we all live for the moment to finally wear leather jackets again! One way to update your style is by incorporating suede and denim into your outerwear collection. If you usually go for classic and minimal styles, try grabbing jackets that will still fit in with your everyday aesthetic. There are going to be tons of denim assortments this fall, so be sure to pick up your faves soon! Find the suede jacket here and the oversized denim jacket here.
2. Test the Waters
It never hurts to check out the latest trend reports to get your ideas flowing. Switch out a few of your key pieces with current variations. Don't be afraid to go for garments with unique details, textures, fabrics, colors, or patterns! It's exhilerating to test the waters every once-in-a-while.
3. Switch It Up
Your hair and makeup are other extensions of you! Cut or lighten your hair, wear a new lipstick, or switch it up altogether. I chopped off three inches of my hair a couple of weeks ago on a whim. I felt like my basic beach waves were limiting my style, so I opted for a dramatic, blunt cut to start anew.
There's nothing like reinventing yourself when you're feeling uninspired or bored with your look. The great thing about fashion is that it allows you to find new ways to express your artistry and creativity! For example, try out a 90's throwback lip for an edgier take on the typical fall ombre lip.
